Me versus other financial pros.
What’s the difference?

What I do: change your financial life for good.

I’m a specialist in setting up effective, livable budgets and changing financial behaviors.

Here’s the best way to describe it: A personal trainer for your finances. I’ll show how to budget and hold you accountable so you stick to it. That’s it in a nutshell.

What I don’t do: sell you financial products.

They won’t tell you this upfront, but most financial planners or advisors, however, they label themselves, will insist that you need this type of insurance or that type of mutual fund. They may truly believe in what they’re selling, but they also get a cut.

You probably don’t like salesy pitches and neither do I. I don’t sell any financial products. None, nada, zip, zilch, zero. In fact, I don’t
even talk about financial products ever.

I’m here for one reason: To make a plan, get you to take action, and become good with your money.

Where my values are: in line with yours.

Behind-the-door deals are sneaky and slimy. They never benefit you. That’s why I never accept any third party compensation for referrals. Never. And I put that in writing. You pay me for the work I do and nobody else.

Are we meant for each other?

Who I’m for

We’re a perfect match if you’re:

  • Making good money but can’t figure how it all vanishes into thin air.
  • Tired of your financial mess but don’t know where to start.
  • Sick of your line of credit and never wish you got one in the first place.
  • Avoiding talking to your spouse about money because it always causes a fight.
  • Annoyed that you consolidated your debt into your mortgage again. Even though the last time you did it you swore that you would never do that again.
  • Worried about your kids’ money habits. You think they’re going to end up just like you or your spouse.
  • Nervous about the golden years because your retirement accounts aren’t as high as they should be.
  • A corporate lottery winner but your money pot is starting to shrink.
  • Ready for change. You know you can’t keep on going like this. It’s pure craziness. You want to take the “bull by the horns” and take
    action.

If you answer “yes” to 3 of the above questions, you’ve gotta call me because I’m your man.

Who I’m not for

Here are four most common reasons I’m not the right guy for the job (but I’m sure someone is… keep up the search 😉

1. You’re looking for a career coach. Saving money is my forte. I’m not a guru on how to bring home more bacon. So if you’re looking for ideas to bump up your income, I’m all for it. But I’m probably not your best bet.

2. You want stock picks. I believe in investing money wholeheartedly. I’m not, however, an investment manager, which is what you need if you’re looking for advice on a portfolio. But if you’re looking for the Warren Buffett of budgeting, stick around because you’re in the right place.

3. You want to live off bubkes (that’s Yiddish for nilch). Being smart with your money is essential. Becoming a cheapo isn’t. I don’t know how to turn eggs cartons into pillows or how to use driving hand signals to save your blinkers from burning out. So if you’re looking for extreme penny-pinching antics I’m not the right address for that. I believe financial extremism fizzles out fast. If you want to make changes that last, the most important thing is to stay normal with your budgeting plan.

4. You can’t handle cheesy jokes. Personal finance can get a little dry. I like to lighten things up with a bit of humor from time to time. Here’s a quick tolerance test:

Q: Why was 6 scared of 7?

A: Because 7, 8, 9.

7 ate 9…get it?. If you’re cool with that then we’ll be okay. If not, I’ll probably drive you bonkers.

I’m loving this! What should I do next?
